WALKING HOLIDAYS

THE ISLE OF WIGHT IS A WALKER'S PARADISE

The Isle of Wight is a true walker’s paradise. As one of the UK’s most beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors, we welcome thousands of walkers to the Island year after year as they explore our 68-mile-long coastal path and our criss-cross network of footpaths and trails.

As one of the UK's most beautiful destinations for outdoor enthusiasts, the Isle of Wight welcomes thousands of walkers every year who come to explore our 68-mile-long coastal path and our criss-cross network of footpaths and trails.

One iconic landmark that walkers won't want to miss is the Needles chalk stack, located at the western tip of the island. These tall, jagged rocks emerge from the rolling hills of Tennyson Downs on the southwest coast, creating a mesmerizing sight.  Freshwater Bay to the Needles circular route is a challenging hike that offers breathtaking views and is perfect for ramblers looking for an adventure.

More than half of our island is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing awe-inspiring scenery wherever you go. Our southern beaches not only offer a great place to rest, but also a fascinating glimpse into the prehistoric world of dinosaur life on the Isle of Wight.

Whether you're after a leisurely stroll for the whole family or a challenging hike, the Isle of Wight has a walk for everyone. Don't miss the island's popular Walking Festival held in May each year, where you'll have the opportunity to join guided walks ranging from historic trails to scenic hikes.

Discover the beauty and wonder of our island on foot and create unforgettable memories with every step you take.
