Isle Of Wight Walkingfestival

Isle of Wight Walking Festival – 28 April – 13 May 2018

The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is one of the biggest Walking Festivals in the UK.   With over 250 walks taking place as part of the main event in May and another 70 plus walks in its ‘Autumn Walking Weekend’ in October.  Founded in 1999 with just 39 walks through the landscapes of the beautiful Isle of Wight it has since grown to become the biggest walking festival in the UK and Europe,  The Walking Festival features a variety of walks and accompanying events that include celebrity appearances and talks, heritage walks and trails and fossil hunting excursions along the coast of the UK’s official “Dinosaur Capital”. There is even a ‘speed dating’ walk which boasts a success rate of four marriages and a baby, as well as creating many friendships and relationships.

Isle of Wight, Newport Jazz Weekend 30 May-3 June 2018

Our aim is to promote jazz on the Isle of Wight. Members of the committee will not receive any financial reward. Inspected accounts will be available on request.

Agricultural Society Show

This is the show where cattle, sheep and poultry come first. It’s a fantastic day out for all the family, combining entertainment and fun with the opportunity to enjoy many aspects of Island country life and farming. The Main Ring is the focus of the Royal Isle of Wight County Show. The action lasts all day. We are currently putting together a package of non-stop entertainment, competitions and attractions taking place.

Isle of Wight Festival 13 – 16th June 2019

The Isle of Wight Festival is an annual event held at Seaclose Park, Newport, this huge festival plays host to an incredible line up and around 75,000 people attend every year. . Many of the acts are yet to be announced, but the current line up can be found here:

Round The Island Race

Round the Island Race Saturday 29 June 2019

The annual Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight. The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs. Competitors come from all over the UK, other parts of Europe and as far away as the USA to follow the 50 nautical mile course round the Isle of Wight. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, the fleet races westabout, to The Needles, round St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge Ledge buoy, and back into the Solent to the finish line at Cowes.

Lendy Cowes Week 4 – 11 August 2018

Lendy Cowes Week is held at the beginning of August set after Glorious Goodwood race meeting it is also famous for the fireworks display on the Friday. As well as the sailing activities, the week includes a large number of onshore events including live music and cocktail parties. 

Garlic Festivalr

Garlic Festival 18 – 19 August 2018

Set against a beautiful backdrop of rolling green hills and farmland, the Garlic Festival is located just outside of Newchurch. Huge garlic marquees, featuring cooking demo’s all day long.100’s of Arts and Craft stalls, businesses and mouth watering food. Local produce to tempt your taste buds. Talented animals and arena entertainment. Live music on stage and in beer tent. Children’s entertainment, archery and giant fun fair. Free parking.
